The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST-BARMM) is conducting the “Thoyyiban: Food Safety Knowledge and Skill Development Training for Halal Food Auditors (Act. 4.1.1)” on October 13–15, 2026, equipping aspiring and practicing Halal food auditors with essential knowledge and skills in food safety management and auditing standards.

Drawing on ISO 22000:2018 and ISO 19011, the three-day training reinforces the importance of scientific competence, objective assessment, and accountability in ensuring that Halal products are not only permissible but also safe, clean, and wholesome.

Rooted in the Islamic principle of ḥalālan ṭayyiban and the value of amānah (trust), this initiative reflects MOST-BARMM’s commitment to strengthening the Bangsamoro Halal industry, supporting local enterprises and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and protecting consumer welfare.

As emphasized by Minister MP Bailen g S. Mantawil, “Science must reach our communities. It must protect lives, improve livelihoods, and help our people make informed decisions.” By developing competent and ethical Halal food auditors, MOST-BARMM continues to strengthen food safety practices, build consumer confidence, and promote a safer and more competitive Halal industry in the Bangsamoro.
