Children and senior citizens gathered at Magsaysay Park in the early morning of Thursday, September 17, for “Celebrating Generations: A Day for Children and the Elderly,”an activity part of the city’s Talakudong Festival 2026 celebration.
With the theme “Talakudong Bente-Sais: Pag-amlig sa Kultura, Tradisyon, kag Palambuon,” the event brought the two groups together through different games and activities.
City Mayor Lina O. Montilla, PhD, along side with City Vice Mayor Atty. Ralen T. Tabusares-Bernando and members of the 10th Sagguniang Panglungsod, joined the celebration and expressed support for the initiatives that promote the welfare of children and senior citizens.
The children and senior citizens also joined informal parlor games and other activities bringing great laughter and joy to kickstart the day. Snacks and tokens were also given to the participants to remember the moment by.
